In 1965 Iran Jonub-e-Shargh Regional Electric Company was settled to cover Kerman - Sistan and Hormozgan provinces that includes 26/5 percent of the country's area.
In 1976 Kerman Power&Water Company was founded with Kerman and Sistan under its management .After separation of Sistan in 1981 Kerman Regional Electric Company independently has been established. Since 1997 in accordance with privatizing policies 2 new companies began to work however Krec supervises the activities of them.
Distribution companies were separated from Krec in2007 , thusly the company was run under 3 deputies to manage: The generation , Transmission and sub-transmission .Krec invests time, money and expertise to provide priced and reliable energy for subscribers. Also Krec is able to offer value-added   services , It is committed to keeping its focus on member needs and local priorities.
Today   888722 subscribers and 4481 villages are fed by this company. Its load at the peak of 2011 has been 1727MW
